Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Finance Manager will lead a team responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance department.
Duties
1. Designing, documenting and maintaining adequate and appropriate financial controls for all areas
2. Reconciliation and maintenance of balance sheet accounts, including debtors, prepayments, accruals, agency payments and creditors
3. Oversee preparation and entry of journals and other monthly adjustments
4. All treasury functions including monitoring of weekly cash flow, forecasting cash requirements and periodic reporting of cash information
5. Regular reporting to Board and Senior Pastor
6. Preparation of periodic VAT returns, including responsibility to ensure compliance and best practice for all aspects of VAT as it applies to the organisations
7. Preparation of annual statutory accounts and audit file, including liaising with external auditors and supplying required information
8. Preparation and management of monthly payroll
9. Supervision of work completed by Finance Team
10. Providing technical on the job training and development to Finance Team
11. Finalisation of monthly management accounts including supporting schedules and information
12. Review of Income & Expenditure accounts and preparation of variance analysis
13. Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
14. Preparation of other management reporting as and when required
15. Ownership of all financial systems and processes, including constant review of best practice, ensuring all processes are efficient and effective
16. Liaising with other departments to ensure good financial reporting as relevant to each area of church operations
17. Review and improvement of all financial tools, reports and accounting systems
18. Build and develop the Sunday count team
19. Any other task assigned by the GM or Board
20. Authorising of bank payments
Skills, knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
1. Ability to inspire, build and lead a team
2. Good administration and organisational skills
3. Computer literate with effective working knowledge of IT packages such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google (Mail, Sheets, Docs)
4. Willing to work with Xero
Desirable:
1. Budgeting experience & knowledge
2. Xero accounts package experience
3. AAT Qualified
