We are excited to be recruiting for a Full Time qualified Counsellor to work in our supportive team here at Chorley & South Ribble. You will join our Talking Therapies team offering one to one, telephone and online therapy. We are open to flexible and hybrid working requests.
The successful candidate will join a fantastic team of PWPs, Counsellors and CBT therapists who work collaboratively to deliver the best outcomes for clients. Health and wellbeing of staff is important to us. You will receive regular supervision and have the opportunity to attend suitable training events to support your professional development.
Depending on qualifications, knowledge and skills you will be paid at a corresponding pay band. Please see below and the attached JD/PS for more details. If you are offered an interview, the pay and terms and conditions will be discussed then.
Main duties of the job
Band 6: In addition to core training as a counsellor, you must have an HEE Talking Therapies approved training qualification such as PCE-CfD, CTfD. For those qualified Counsellors who have not yet gained BACP Accreditation, you must be committed to completion of this within your first 12 months in post.
Band 7: In addition to the above, you must be accredited with the BACP already and hold a supervision qualification.

Person specification
Qualifications
* British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited Diploma
* Registered with BACP
* Evidence of working towards Accreditation with BACP and expectation that this will be completed within 12 months of taking up the post
* NHS talking therapies compliant modality training suitable for counselling service e.g. PCE-CfD IPT CTfD BCTfD MBCT EMDR DIT (or currently undertaking training)
Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS structures and policy within a primary care context.
* Clinical and theoretical knowledge of at least one model of psychological therapy/counselling
* An understanding of the key performance indicators in NHS Talking Therapies and how they relate to clinical practice
Experience
* Experience of working with common mental health issues
* Experience of collaborative work in the NHS. Experience of working within an NHS talking therapies team
* Experience of delivering online and or telephone therapy
Skills
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills both oral and written
* Ability to sustain intense levels of concentration responding and participating as required
* Ability to self-reflect and use clinical supervision appropriately
