Requirements:
- - A minimum of three years of relevant technical experience in an IT support role, or evidence of relevant IT technical support-related courses (e.g., ITIL MCP).
- Experience in providing ICT support and troubleshooting in a complex ICT work environment.
- Practical experience in building, deploying, and patching computers.
- Proficient in working with a range of systems (Operating Systems & Applications).
- Ability to prepare well-structured written material that summarizes and identifies key points.
- Experience in handling correspondence and maintaining records.
- Competence in dealing with contractors and consultants.
- A current driving license and access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- - I will oversee the installation, administration, maintenance, configuration, and diagnostic management of multiple virtual and physical servers.
- I will manage the administration and security of MPLS WAN, Checkpoint VPN, and LAN networks.
- I will configure and troubleshoot business applications.
- I will support the development and production of user documentation for IT networks and systems as required.
- I will provide technical support and ensure the day-to-day management of an ITIL-compliant helpdesk.
- I will troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications as needed.
- I will prepare progress reports and briefing materials for senior staff.
- I will identify and utilize appropriate software to support project management processes, such as MS Project and MS Office.
- I will support the process of Change Management by ensuring that standard project documentation is established, updated, and stored, including reporting documentation, issues, and risk logs.
- I will maintain administrative records of projects within the IT unit.
- I will organize and prioritize my own work and administrative tasks within the IT unit, including ordering required hardware, software, and contractor services.
- I will manage the delivery and deployment of hardware, software, and contractor services.
- I will provide management and administration of servers, PCs, printers, and firewalls.
- I will administer various systems used in Waterways Ireland, including Active Directory, MS Exchange, Office 365, Hyper-V, ESRI GIS, and DPM.
- I will oversee the administration and management of telecoms servers and associated equipment, including mobile phones and VOIP systems.
- I will manage and control the activities of the appropriate staff within the Section.
- I will handle any other tasks assigned to me from time to time.
- I will comply with and actively promote Waterways Ireland policies and procedures regarding all aspects of equality.
- I will complete all required training as specified by Waterways Ireland within given timeframes.
