Management Accountant

Hays are delighted to be supporting a Not Profit Organisation in Glasgow as they recruit a Management Accountant. Our client offer a varied and exciting working environment, gaining access and exposure to a number of service areas and business stakeholders. The role is hybrid (1 day a week in office) with the organisation being based in Glasgow. The contract for the role will last a minimum of 3 months. There is also scope for the role to become permanent for the right individual. The working hours for the week will be 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. This role offers £23.00 - £27.00 per hour based on a permanent equivalent of £44,000 - £49,000 per annum.
Your new role
The Management Accountant will be responsible for the provision of monthly management accounts and partnering with stakeholders on the delivery of operations within budget. Reporting to the Principal Accountant within the organisation, you will support 3 members of staff at Finance Officer level as part of a wider experienced team. You will have a varied role and will support the development and management of financial plans and budgets, assess business proposals for costs, return on investment, and funding needs, and participate in budget creation, financial tracking, accounting, and reporting activities.
This Management Accountant will collaborate with budget managers to align financial objectives and build relationships across the business. You will also support the embedding of the BAU process as the business improves financial systems with a new ERP system and will support the analysis and improvement of financial systems. Your team will be responsible for transactional activities and your remit will ensure the smooth running of transactions management, providing guidance where necessary.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a fully qualified accountant, with experience working in the Public Sector. You will have a role of a similar nature with strong Management Accounting experience and strong excel skills to present and analyse data. There will also be a need to have a strong can-do attitude and the ability to communicate with others in the team clearly and concisely. Additionally, you will need to be highly organised and have excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively.
