Health and Social Care Lecturer Job Description

Reports to: Associate Dean/Head of Department
Job purpose: To appoint a lecturer in the health and social care faculty at the Leicester campus, ensuring an excellent student experience through relevant and inspiring learning, teaching, and assessment methods.
Ideal candidate: Industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, and/or professional level.
Responsibilities:
• All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work.
• Developing, updating, and improving course materials.
• Teaching and learning, including marking, assessment, and feedback.
• Supporting colleagues to deliver organisational and statutory requirements.
• Working internally and externally to support partner organisations and activities.
• Module leadership and associated activities.
Requirements:
• Masters' degree in Health & Social Care or related field.
• UK Teaching Experience (Minimum one-year experience).
• PGCert / Fellowship in FHCA Status (Highly Desirable).
• Enthusiasm for delivering a high-quality education experience.
• Record of leading a successful programme development thought leadership in educational pedagogy.
• Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
• Experience of marking, assessment, and feedback.
• Experience of working with professional services to enhance student learning.
• Previous experience of course leadership, module leadership desirable.
• Experience of using different technologies to deliver teaching and learning.
• Organisational and leadership skills and knowledge.
Salary and Benefits:

• Basic hours are 9am to 6pm on site.
• Trips away from the office are often required.
• Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period.
• 3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
