Vision for Education are recruiting for an Autism Support Assistant for a SEND setting in Colne. The roles are full time (Monday to Friday) which will start in January 2025 depending on requirements. About the role Are you a friendly and child-centred person? Are you passionate about supporting pupils with Autism and a range of special educational needs? The role will be working as an additional support in the classroom, working with students in small groups and 1:1 with students with Autism to support them with both life based skills, alongside a flexible, tailored curriculum in the core subjects (English and Maths). About the school Autism Support Assistants are instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of any school. The most effective Autism Support Assistants have excellent communication skills and have an interest and passion in supporting the day-to-day needs of all children. They are also able to build relationships with both staff, children and their families. The role of an Autism Support Assistant can vary from school to school but key elements of your day will be similar. You may be working to support the teacher in while class teaching, running small group interventions to support children or working on a 1:1 basis to ensure the needs of all children are met and that they can thrive in the specific environment. Requirements To be considered for the role of Autism Support Assistant you will: Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
