What you will do in your working day
* Deliver good customer service to internal and external customers
* Ensure that the transport operation is efficient, using IT systems to promote productivity
* Brief and debrief team members daily to provide information, advice and guidance
* Monitor and report on the day-to-day operational performance
* Organise and plan the use of resources, such as staff and vehicles, and schedule maintenance and repairs
* Ensure correct personal protective equipment is issued and signed for
* Identify opportunities to improve the organisation’s processes and practices
* Monitor and record staff performance and behaviour, including recruitment, allocation, and right-to-work entitlement
The training you will be getting
The apprenticeship includes:
* Level 3 Transport Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard
* Level 3 TMCPC (Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence)
* Maths and English (if not already achieved)
All training sessions and tutor contact will be held online. The apprentice will have monthly 1:1 meetings with their tutor and attend 14 training days online with their peers.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* The successful candidate will qualify as a Transport Manager. The role of the transport manager requires the TMCPC qualification which is a licence to practice and required by industry
* The transport manager role is desirable and provides many career opportunities
