About the Role
In this role, you'll support the place expansion in Stanwell in Spelthorne, an area of greater need, by collaborating with local organisations and communities to identify and address barriers to physical activity and developing local solutions together. No two days will be the same - this varied role involves leading community engagement in Stanwell, building meaningful relationships, and understanding the local motivations and challenges that locals face in staying active.
You will work closely with local residents, connecting through the voluntary, community and faith sector. Whilst the role will be hosted in Active Surrey, you will also work closely with Spelthorne Borough Council, NW Surrey Alliance, Surrey County Council, the voluntary and community sector, Sport England, and the wider Active Partnerships network.
You'll oversee a micro grant budget aimed at increasing physical activity within the community, empowering local residents to take charge of their own physical activity. Coordinating local training sessions and partner convening events, you'll report to the Place Lead and Sport England, sharing insights and impacts from your initiatives.
You'll love this job if:
* You're passionate about making a difference, you're ambitious, dynamic and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, using insight to drive real change.
* You're curious and like to ask why and how! You're brave and creative, a proactive and inspiring self-starter, eager to learn, adept at bringing in new ideas and trying different things.
* You're collaborative and inviting, a team player who enjoys mentoring, managing, developing talent & teams.
* You're inspiring, you believe in the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives, and your drive and positivity brings people with you.

* Experience of working with IT including email, MS Office and other databases.
