Job description Teacher - Alternative Education Centre
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a talent for engaging students who may not thrive in mainstream education? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Teacher to join an Alternative Education Centre in Durham.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to small groups of students
2. Support learners with varying abilities, including those with SEN needs
3. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
4. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create personalised learning plans
5. Encourage students to develop confidence and skills through creative and practical approaches to learning
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4
3. Strong behaviour management skills and a flexible, empathetic approach
4. A passion for working with students outside of mainstream education
5. Available to work 9 am- 2:30 pm
