This is a maternity cover contract (circa 15 months), commencing around February 2025 allowing a 2-month handover. The agency is based near Woking, Surrey.
As Studio Manager you’ll drive the quality and accuracy of creative execution within the agency as well as directly managing a multi-disciplinary creative team.
Responsibilities for this Studio Manager include:
1. Manage the day-to-day running of the Design Team, working closely with the Content Director and Creative Director, to drive creative excellence, particularly brand accuracy and alignment, and quality assurance.
2. Line manage a team of 6 direct reports, including learning and development plans, and conducting regular 1-2-1s and appraisals.
3. A strong relationship leader you’ll lead, support and nurture the studio team, maintaining motivation, capability and championing best practice, helping everyone do their best work.
4. Working closely with the Client Services team with accurate time estimates and understanding of best creative approach to deliver project efficiency.
5. Working with the Traffic Manager to assist with correct resourcing based on skills and with the COO to assess upcoming resource needs.
6. Assess, interrogate and clarify client briefs and assigning the appropriate designers to a project.
7. Assist with clearly communicating to the client, project needs to the design team, and to ensure that the work meets the agreed brief.
About you:
1. Previous experience in a similar role.
2. A strong and driven team leader you’ll have recent line management experience.
3. Skilled with applications that include InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
4. Skilled in general artwork, with an appreciation of good design.
