We’re looking for Civil Enforcement Officers to join our parking services team.
The Role
Parking Services provides a range of frontline services and is directly responsible for the day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of pay and display machinery throughout the district.
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will be:
1. Flexible and reliable.
2. Observant and able to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public and accurate in recording information.
3. Required to work as part of a team patrolling car parks and highways in your designated area to enforce parking regulations and assist the public with inquiries in a helpful manner.
4. Required to issue penalty charge notices using handheld computerized terminals and may be required to make written reports in support of notices issued.
5. Responsible for reporting defects relating to signage, street lighting, street furniture, or any other issues that may constitute a hazard to the public or adversely affect the operation of a permitted parking facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves the outdoors and can broaden their knowledge of North Yorkshire while working outside.
Shifts:
5 days over 7, from 06:45 am to 00:15 am with various shifts. There is an allowance for any weekend working of up to £30 per full day (approximately £2000 additional per annum).
A full manual driving license is required.
What you will bring
You will be customer-focused, with great communication skills both verbal and written, and resilient, with the ability to deal with members of the public. Ideally, we are looking for someone with the ability to operate a computer or computerized equipment; however, we welcome all candidates as full training will be provided.
