Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement control algorithms for Battery Management Systems in electric vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate BMS controls into the overall vehicle control systems, including communication with other subsystems.
3. Design and optimize software for real-time control of battery charging, discharging, and thermal management processes.
4. Conduct system-level testing, validation, and calibration of control algorithms to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve control-related issues in both development and production environments.
6. Document control strategies, software architectures, and test results, maintaining thorough and accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Controls Engineer with a strong emphasis on software development for Battery Management Systems.
2. Proficiency in control system design and software development using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C, C++, or Python.
3. Experience in electric vehicle (EV) systems, particularly in commercial vehicle conversions, is highly advantageous.
4. Deep understanding of battery technologies, control theory, and energy storage systems.
5. Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations related to BMS and EVs.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.
