Position Overview: The EHS Senior Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the workforce and the sustainability of environmental resources. This position is instrumental in driving the companys commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, reflecting its core values and dedication to responsible business practices. The EHS Senior Advisor will be a key figure in instilling a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence. Through the continual improvement of EHS management systems and the development of a culture of collaboration and engagement the EHS Manager will be front and center in making the step change. The remit covers all Deeside site operations. In addition to existing assets, the role will cover site capital requirements and integration of new processes and equipment. Taking a worker-centric approach to safety whilst upholding and developing a just and fair culture, the EHS Senior Advisor will work closely with the EHS Advisor and operations teams spanning manufacturing, site engineering and capital projects teams. Key Responsibilities: • Support EHS Advisor / EHS Manager in implementation of effective environmental, health, safety processes. • Demonstrating leadership in environment, health, and safety through personal example. • Ensuring the Deeside EHS management system complies with legislation, corporate requirements, and relevant recommended good practice. • Maintaining the EHS Safety documentation and records. • Development of the site Environmental Roadmap. • Support the implementation of ISO 50001. • Support EHS Committee Meetings and maintain records (Minutes / Actions). • Developing site EHS plans to drive continuous improvement in EHS. • Ensuring corporate reporting requirements are fulfilled as required. • Identifying and sharing good practice and lessons learnt within the Deeside site and the rest of Convatec. • Identify and provide professional training, coaching and support necessary for the site leadership team to carry out their EHS responsibilities sufficiently. • Participating in EHS audit processes and closing the loop on audit recommendations. • Assist with the maintenance of site readiness for ISO 14001, 45001, 50001 certification audits and compliance to legal registers. • Assisting the preparation of the annual EHS Management Review. • Role model environment, health and safety leadership, including championing the development of a proactive EHS culture. Skills & Experience: • Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills. • In depth knowledge of EHS management. • Knowledge of all relevant EHS legislation. • Ability to translate legislative and corporate requirements into practical application. • Ability to build professional relationships with external agencies. • Designing, writing, and implementing EHS processes. • Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills. • Working knowledge of statutory reporting. • Operation and maintenance of ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 certified management system. • Providing internal training to employees at all levels. • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with an ability to challenge and question all levels with the organisation. • Practical and flexible approach with an open-minded attitude to achieving results. • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks at short notice. Qualifications/Education: • NEBOSH General Certificate. • IEMA Foundation certificate. • Degree or NEBOSH diploma in Health and Safety Management (desirable). • Working towards or holds chartered membership of IOSH or IEMA. • Degree or diploma in Environmental management. (desirable). Travel Requirements: • Minimal travel required, less than 10% of work time. Travel could include other sites in Convatec, suppliers or contractor premises.
