Job Title: Project Accounts Assistant
Reporting to: Directly to the Head of Finance & HR
Main purposes of job: Assist and support with the Financial administration of the business.
Located: CFB Risk Management office – Hartlepool.
Overview
Cleveland Fire Brigade Risk Management Services CIC (CFBRMS) was established in 2011 as the commercial trading arm of Cleveland Fire Brigade (CFB). The “CIC” means we are a Community Interest Company, so we do not have Shareholders and, profits are simply given to good causes throughout the Local Communities we operate in.
Our foundations started in Teesside by working with local businesses in one of Europe’s largest clusters of High Hazard industrial operating areas. Our positive, proactive and professional reputation has developed onto an international platform, allowing us to provide Training, Consultancy, Fire Engineering and Asset Protection Services around the world.
Due to continued business growth and expansion, we are looking for a Project Accounts Assistant to join our Head Office team on a full-time basis to maintain the current projects, add new business opportunities, and support CFB RMS managers with daily office needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create and develop reports periodically using Xero accountancy tools, to provide key client and project information to the team.
2. Report on current and future performance, growth & produce reports to aid commercial decision making.
3. Build partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and clients where needed to aid collaboration to achieve business growth ambitions.
4. Support and mentor the Accounts Assistant and other staff as needed to develop the reporting process.
5. Drive project efficiencies wherever possible and look to continuously improve working practices.
6. Develop staff with the use of Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI and other tools, including tools not currently in use.
7. Advise on Plug-ins and add-ons to the current accountancy software Xero.
8. Update the Head of Finance & HR regularly on projects and the Managing Director when requested.
9. Analyze accounting and project data to identify trends, correct anomalies, and identify potential cost cuttings and savings.
10. Responsible for business accounting procedures and monitoring/auditing for compliance, reporting to Head of Finance & HR.
Other
Additional tasks where necessary to support both the Head of Finance and HR, as well as the Head of Sales and Business Development and other team members when required.
Requirements and Key Skills - Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience using Xero and Xero Projects is essential. At least 2 years.
2. Previous demonstrable experience in a Project Management Accounting & Analyst role. At least 2 years.
3. Qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA qualifications.
4. Able to analyze and manipulate data on Excel, using advanced features.
5. Proficient in using Power BI.
6. Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics.
7. Strong analytical skills with the ability to undertake a range of financial and business modeling tasks.
8. Ability to be proactive & forward-thinking, whilst maintaining a methodical and high attention to detail.
9. Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently as well as supporting the wider team.
10. Experience in resolving issues and queries, with confidence and determination to find answers as needed.
11. Driving Licence.
12. Experience of working with Oil & Gas, Wind, and High Hazard Industries would be a high advantage, but not necessary.
13. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
14. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Please note: This position is part-time at present with the possibility to extend to full-time in the future should this become a business need, based at our HQ in Hartlepool, hours between 16 – 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Salary: Starting Salary between £12,500.00 - £14,000 per annum - While in probation period.
Potential for escalation to between £14,500.00 to £16,000.00 after successful completion of probation period and proven improvement, skill, and competencies.
