This post will require you to work across all campus at the university and in external schools and colleges. In line with the agile working policy, it is expected that this post will be working from the university or out in schools/colleges for 3 days per week or more, where required. Two days of home working are acceptable.
About the school or department
You’ll be part of the Marketing and External Engagement Directorate responsible for a range of university-wide activities which includes teams responsible for organising student recruitment activities, managing the external website; design and digital content creation; campaign management and cycle activity; media liaison via the press office; corporate social media; internal comms for students; corporate events; alumni relations; and external stakeholder management.
Our student recruitment function comprises of the following teams: Student Recruitment Events, Schools Liaison and Outreach, Admissions and Applicant Experience. Together these teams work with academic schools to deliver on the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment objectives and to meet our widening participation targets. Data and evidence constantly informs our decisions to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided to our customers.
About the role
An exciting opportunity to join a successful and well-established Student Recruitment and Outreach Team, this post is responsible for the creation and implementation of Schools and Colleges recruitment and Widening Participation engagement strategy, with a particular focus on delivering excellent subject specific and large on campus events.
The Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager works closely with colleagues across the CMSR department and academic schools to design, deliver and evaluate the schools and colleges on campus and subject specific engagement strategy. This includes monitoring and contributing to the universities Access and Participation Plan and overall widening participation agenda.
The post holder will manage a busy team of subject specific Student Recruitment and Outreach Officers/Support Officers to help achieve growth targets and diversity in applicants to the university.
