Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer
Our client, a leading aerospace company, seeks a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer responsible for verification, validation, and testing of flight test instrumentation systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
Requirements Capture
* Collaborate with disciplines (Flight, Mechanical, Avionics) and stakeholders (Customers, Subcontractors) to define FTI requirements.
* FTI requirements include sensors (Accelerometers, Potentiometers, Strain gauges), Aircraft Data Systems (ADC, FDR, DFDAU, QAR), and Aircraft Indicator Systems.
* Assist in developing flight test plans to ensure FTI adequacy.
FTI Design
* Design robust systems compatible with aircraft environments and power systems.
* Select equipment meeting FTI and Airworthiness standards.
* Assess equipment to ensure safety and suitability.
* Provide installation data and instructions.
* Sign off on FTI data and installation.
* Ensure sufficient spare equipment and calibration over the test period.
Aircraft Operation
* Oversee FTI calibration and data management.
* Coordinate data processing and delivery.
* Collaborate with flight test team on planning and checklists.
* Manage FTI systems during flights or guide team in absence.
