Hays Specialist Recruitment is actively recruiting for a Children's Semi-independent Residential Support Worker based in all areas of South London. Rate: £12.86 - £14.60 per hour. Shifts: Weekdays, Nights, Weekends.

Your New Role
1. Providing essential support to children and young people (16+ years old) within residential homes with complex emotional needs and EBD.
2. Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence.
3. Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their needs.
4. Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning.
5. Supporting learning and homework completion.
6. Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Preferred Experience: Prior experience in a children's residential home is preferable. Experience with children is a must, especially those with complex needs. However, we welcome candidates with relevant transferable experience supporting young people with challenging needs.
2. Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3 are ideal. An NVQ LVL 2 is a must. Mandatory training evidence will be requested, and any required modules will be assigned through our online training platform.
3. Flexibility: We're seeking workers who are flexible with their shift patterns, depending on your circumstances and the clients.
4. Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations.
5. Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You'll be responsible for writing in logbooks and potentially preparing reports.
