Band 7, 2.0 WTE, 37 hours
(including evening, weekend, on-call and public holidays commitment)
NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh city, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. We are the second largest health system in NHS Scotland and one of only four teaching Boards. We serve a population of 900,000, providing a range of primary, community based and acute hospital services.
The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. We are focused on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.
St John’s Hospital is a modern teaching hospital that provides a comprehensive and expanding range of services, including ophthalmology, a 24-hour Accident and Emergency department, and elective and emergency gynaecology care. We also support neonatal services via our Special Care Baby Unit.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of Specialist Pharmacists, taking on this varied role which works across surgical, women and children, medical and ophthalmic services.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent.
2. Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
3. Completed or have equivalent competence as mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework.
4. Qualification as an independent prescriber is desirable (training opportunities available).

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult), an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
