Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available As part of SSEN Transmission Pathway to 2030 programme of works and beyond, we are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to help drive forward our projects and who can bring big ideas, new skills and innovative thinking to help us grow our teams to successfully deliver a network for Net Zero. Many of our projects are in Aberdeenshire, so a willingness to travel to that area or locally based engineers are desirable. The key duties and responsibilities for the Civil Project Engineer in the HVDC Engineering team include: - Responsible for Civil Engineering delivery on assigned projects of typical capital value £200M - £2B. - Promote and manage safety within assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and safety in design. Fulfilling the role of Designer or Principal Designer under CDM. - Responsible for defining scope of civil engineering design and validation and verification of civil engineering designs. Providing ongoing civil engineering support during delivery stages of assigned projects including site support as required during the construction phase. - Provide technical input for your specialist discipline as well as interfacing with other technical and project functions to ensure a co-ordinated approach to project delivery and identification and resolution of key risks. - Evaluate tenders, preparation of scope of works and the procurement and management of specialist services to support projects. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: - Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng or working towards this). - Demonstrable experience of using digital platforms (Infraworks, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks etc.) to facilitate engineering design development and ensure design coordination with other disciplines. - Good technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications, and technical specifications, and how to determine applicability of relevant standards. - In depth understanding of CDM Regulations. - Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision making by senior management.
