Job Overview
My Client is looking for a Civil Engineering Lead to be based (hybrid) out of Bristol. Duties include:
1. Coordinating with building leads the production and approval of building specific documents such as Input Data Package, Design Substantiation Report, handover reports, or hypothesis notes.
2. Supporting the preparation of technical documentation for procurement, jointly with the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL).
3. Supporting the client for the coordination of technical discussions during the procurement phase prior to the signature of the contract with the civil designer.
4. Ensuring that each technical issue is taken in charge by the CI/BOP CW activities, responsible for the resolution of transverse/complex technical open points for their scope.
5. Supporting the Client in coordination with civil designer and other stakeholders for producing the design; carrying on the review and acceptance of deliverables for key/transverse deliverables, ensuring that all deliverables are produced according to the validated schedule.
6. Identifying the need for updates of key and transverse documents such as hypothesis notes and transverse handovers, producing them in time for the civil designer input data package.
7. Coordinating and supporting the building lead and Technical Leads for design open points management.
8. Providing technical support to the Contract Engineering Lead when necessary for specific technical topics.
9. Supporting the Client to prepare progress reports and identifying any risks to program or costs.
10. Reviewing technical proposals for design variations relying on the Building Leads’ support.
11. Managing workload and associated resources: distribution of tasks within the team, assessment of the work done by team members, highlighting the need for more or fewer team members or specific profiles, coordination of CW activities, ensuring that lessons learnt is shared and that deliverables are homogeneous within the team.
12. Coordinating the preparation of design change papers and their presentation in change committees.
13. Coordinating the collection, analysis, and verification of the consistency of input data from previous projects and other disciplines, including liaising with Client site-based engineering teams to recover input data and lessons learnt from Client.
14. Participating in maturity and gate reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Coordinating and contributing to CDM reviews, creating and maintaining the Design Risk Register.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in civil engineering.
1. Civil engineering design office experience (variable depending on the level of the service required), particularly in the design and detailing of industrial reinforced concrete structures.
2. Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous.

12 months initial contract with options for extension.
