Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming primary school in Chesterfield S43!
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary (SEMH TA Pri) in Chesterfield S43, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) - Primary:
* Support the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of students with SEMH needs.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support, ensuring students understand and complete their work with confidence.
* Monitor and assess student progress, offering feedback to teachers and adapting support strategies as needed.
* Participate in meetings to discuss student progress, share insights, and collaborate on strategies for their well-being and development.
* Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and supported.
* Use varied instructional techniques and materials to cater to different learning styles and needs.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) - Primary:
* Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to establish trust and rapport with the school community.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with SEMH challenges.
* Additional qualifications or training in special education are desirable but not essential.
* Full driving license required.
To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will need:
* Have the right to work in the UK
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
