We are looking for an exceptional Deputy General Manager to join our NHS Trust located in the surroundings of the Lake District. As a member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding performance, quality, and safety of services within the portfolio of services you oversee in the Collaborative. This role offers an incredible chance to work closely with the General Manager and Collaborative Chair to shape the healthcare in this Trust.
In this role, you will hold an operational and strategic leadership position, overseeing development and delivery of service strategy and objectives of a particular group of services within the Collaborative. Working closely with the Collaborative, you will be responsible for delivering operational performance targets, enhancing the quality of services provided and ensuring financial balance.
You will be responsible for the planning and organisation of a range of complex activities and associated services, working with other services and areas to achieve success. This role involves providing effective leadership and management within teams, ensuring that services are supported to maintain the highest standards and performance requirements. You will report to the General Manager and actively support the achievement of objectives in both the corporate and Collaborative agenda.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
1. Have overall responsibility for the effective operational management of a defined range of services/imaging modalities across several sites within a Collaborative.
2. Be responsible for the delivery of targets and performance measures against the national constitutional standards.
3. Provide leadership in the development of clinical and support services.
4. Be the lead manager for a major area of activity, interpreting corporate and national policies.
5. Actively support the General Manager and contribute to the development and delivery of service strategy and objectives.
6. Actively support the achievement of objectives within both the corporate and Collaborative agenda.
7. Effectively manage numerous budgets and resources whilst maintaining a high level of patient care.
8. Participate in any on-call arrangement or shift system which is associated with this role outside of normal working hours, in order to fulfil the requirements of the base service and also the wider Trust. These arrangements may vary from time to time depending upon Trust requirements in the best interests in service delivery.
9. The post holder will be expected to work on multiple sites.
