The Role
The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the finance function, focusing on month-end reporting, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement of the control environment, while supporting the year-end audit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the month-end process across the team and oversee key processes such as payroll and cash control, culminating in the production of the month-end report.
2. Complete FCA regulatory reporting advice submissions and oversee investment firm reports.
3. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet, including preparation and review of monthly reconciliations.
4. Challenge and understand the complaints provision to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
5. Identify key processes and controls within Finance, working with relevant teams to improve deficiencies.
6. Maintain and own the Finance Function Manual and Operating Procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose and continuously improved.
7. Manage the Treasury function operationally, supporting banking systems and the cash forecast model.
8. Own the Finance system, identifying improvements, managing upgrades, and reporting requirements.
9. Attend the Debt committee, providing updates and analysis on movements.
10. Support the year-end audit and manage audit requests from the team.
11. Lead, manage, and mentor the finance team to support their development.
12. Assist with ad-hoc work and projects within the Finance and wider team.

* Salary: £47,000 to £67,000
* Bonus scheme: target bonus of 10%

Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant, or substantial relevant experience in Finance
* Experience in a financial accounting role within a large organization
* Experience in month-end reporting with analysis and insight
* Deadline-driven and task-oriented
* Strong communication skills at all levels
* Knowledge of Financial Services is advantageous
