We are seeking a Delivery Lead for a 150MW Battery Energy Storage Scheme. This is a pivotal role where you’ll oversee the successful delivery of a key section of the project, working collaboratively from the design phase through to construction, commissioning, and handover. Your leadership will directly support the advancement of our capabilities in the energy sector, paving the way for future projects involving Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Contestable Works for the National Grid.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Delivery Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of project delivery, ensuring excellence at every stage. Your role will include:
Collaborative Project Management: Working closely with design, commercial, and operational teams to optimize delivery efficiency, identify opportunities, and proactively manage risks.
Site Leadership: Managing on-site activities to ensure all work is completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards required by the client.
Procurement and Logistics: Overseeing site-level procurement processes, subcontractor management, and ensuring smooth logistics coordination.
Client Engagement: Providing regular updates on project progress, addressing client queries, and maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Health & Safety Compliance: Leading by example in promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and contributing to H&S reporting.
Temporary Works Coordination: Acting as the Temporary Works Coordinator, overseeing the design, installation, and inspection of temporary works to ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive attitude.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Certifications: CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
Education: HNC/Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and project management.
Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites within your operational region.
Desirable Experience and Attributes:
Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, particularly in the renewable energy or BESS space.
Familiarity with National Grid standards and Contestable Works processes.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in delivery processes.
