We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic GP to join the Croft Hall Team as a Salaried GP for ideally 6-8 sessions per week but willing to be flexible for the right person. As a partner you would have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the practice and develop.
Torquay, Devon is an innovative area and our practice is involved with all local initiatives. We are a single urban site, beside the sea, serving 8200 patients and an active part of the Torquay PCN.
We have an ever-growing multi-disciplinary team which includes experienced ANPs, alongside our PCN staff including Pharmacists, Wellbeing Team and Physician Associates. We focus on the wellbeing of our staff and have strong communication across all teams. We structure our workload to support each other to ensure a good work-life balance.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. As a member of the team and one of the employees, you will be expected to set an example to others, assist in education and training and to play a full role in target achievement and service development.

Job responsibilities
1. Practice as an independent prescriber working within scope of practice
2. Carry out face-to-face and telephone consultations with patients with minor illnesses
3. Provide medication review services with patients in the practice and, when required during domiciliary visits to the local residential and care homes.
4. Provide advice and support for patients with self-limiting conditions
5. Review medications for newly registered patients
6. Provide subject matter expertise on medication monitoring, implementing and embedding a system
7. Carry out targeted medication reviews for high-risk patients
8. Reauthorise medication for repeat prescribing within scope of practice
9. Identify patients suitable for repeat prescribing, liaising with the relevant clinicians as required
10. Review and implement safe prescribing systems for vulnerable patients, improving compliance
11. Support clinicians with the management of patients suffering from drug and alcohol dependencies
12. Actively signpost patients to the correct healthcare professional
13. Assist with QOF targets
14. Act as the practice point of contact for all medicines related matters, establishing positive working relationships
