About the Role:
As an ECT Maths Teacher, you will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths, delivering engaging and meaningful lessons that help students develop a solid understanding of the subject. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and receive tailored guidance throughout your ECT programme.
Key Responsibilities of a ECT Maths Teacher:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
Inspire and challenge students to develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning
Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and senior leadership
Actively participate in CPD and the school’s structured ECT induction programme
✅ Requirements to be a ECT Maths Teacher:
QTS or working towards QTS as part of the ECT framework
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills
Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-level Maths
A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to continually develop
A full, up-to-date CV with references covering the last 10 years
Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
