We are currently seeking a driver to work in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas to transport pupils with special needs to schools and colleges.
The hours worked will be split shifts to accommodate transport from home to school in the mornings and from school to home in the afternoons. This will be during school term time only. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the service. Hours may vary due to the different routes, numbers of passengers on the bus, and traffic conditions.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the pupils' and students' needs and abilities. They will also be expected to communicate with empathy. Working as a team is expected in this role.
Experience of driving minibuses would be desirable but is not essential, as the successful candidate will undertake training through the Mini Bus Driving Awareness Scheme (MIDAS). The successful candidate will also undertake any other necessary training required for the post.
As part of the selection process, candidates must take a driving assessment. Candidates must present a D1 driver licence on the day of assessment; otherwise, the assessment cannot proceed.
