About The Role We are currently seeking a Transport Operations Manager to join our experienced Linehaul team at our Southern Distribution Centre. You will drive the day-to-day operations within the Transport department ensuring service; productivity; quality; security and cost targets are met and standard procedures are followed. The Transport Operations Manager will lead a team, providing ongoing development and motivation, ensuring engagement and performance levels are maintained. You will be responsible for: Co-ordinate with vehicle repair contractors to ensure all servicing is carried out in a timely manner and all vehicle defects are reported/recorded and resolved in a timely manner. Resolve issues and queries from our Pick Up and Delivery colleagues. Build and maintain productive relationships with our service centres, attending operational meetings when required Review daily and weekly reports for legal compliance, vehicle utilisation and service delivery Complete any infringements, investigations and action plans Investigate any pre-depart issues and resolve as appropriate. Review accident and damage data to identify trends and hotspots Plan and track personal performance against all measures and accountabilities to ensure you can report to my manager and build smart plans to address issues. Review and confirm resource requirements checking drivers, fleet and subcontractors are in place to deliver daily and weekly schedules and resolve any shortfalls Review the daily resource plan and action any issues such as short notice sick or absence Coach and Train team on Fleet board and Legal compliance. Resolve driver feedback queries and review Fleet board scores weekly and ensure training and coaching of drivers is delivered and effective to improve performance Deliver communication updates and daily briefings at agreed times. Conduct 1-1 meetings and facilitate listening groups to understand and address any team concerns/requirements and promote career development Conduct daily discussions with my team to inspire them to improve performance and service to our customers.
