Strategy & Innovation Analyst
Join Birmingham City Football Club as a Strategy and Innovation Analyst, where you’ll execute strategic projects and collaborate with leaders across departments. Key responsibilities include driving innovative initiatives, improving processes for efficiency, and conducting market analysis to identify new opportunities. You’ll also develop strategic reporting frameworks in collaboration with various teams.
Please note - this role will require minimum 3 days in the office at St Andrews Stadium in Birmingham.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Support: Play a vital role in executing strategic projects throughout the club, collaborating with influential leaders and experts.
2. Collaboration & Communication: Promote a unified approach across various departments, ensuring smooth communication and teamwork.
3. Innovation & Growth Analysis: Drive innovative initiatives by researching and analysing new business models and services that support sustainable growth.
4. Process Improvement: Identify and recommend enhancements to existing processes, boosting efficiency and reducing costs.
5. Market & Data Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, competitor benchmarking, and data analytics to uncover trends, assess risks, and identify new opportunities.
6. Reporting & Insights: Develop and maintain strategic reporting frameworks across financial and non-financial metrics, liaising with marketing, fan experience, finance, operations, and commercial teams.
What We’re Looking for in you?
1. Extensive experience in a strategic role.
2. Bachelor’s degree in business, Sports Management, Economics, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
3. In-office attendance is required minimum 3 days per week at our Birmingham Office.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Strong financial acumen with the capability to craft complex business cases.
2. Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
3. Experience in customer experience analysis and journey mapping.
4. Exceptional strategic report writing and presentation skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence C-level executives.
5. Proven leadership in managing teams and projects in dynamic environments.
6. Proficiency in project management.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Experience in a strategy role within MBB, Big 4, consulting, or sports industry management.
2. Familiarity with sports marketing, sponsorship, and media rights negotiations.
