We are looking for someone with experience in the highway or construction industry to join our Whitby Depot as a Highways Skilled Operative (Lead 2 person Crew). The Whitby team are proud to offer their services to the largest county in the UK and are dedicated to contributing to our local community and the preservation of the natural beauty and history of the area.

As a Highways Skilled Operative with LGV:
You will be part of a team to complete a variety of works including kerbing, drainage installation, patching, ironwork renewal, street furniture installation, and more. If you are appointed to be Highways Skilled Operative Lead 2 pc you will lead small, 2 people crews as part of your role. You will contribute to general maintenance tasks including but not limited to site maintenance, excavating holes and trenches, traffic management, maintaining roadside verges and operating relevant equipment for a wide range of routine and cyclical works.
This role involves participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies and winter maintenance activities, and therefore it is desirable that the successful candidate holds a current Drivers Licence with access to personal transport.
To be successful in the role, you will have some of the following skills and experience:
1. Banksman
2. Manual Handling
3. Abrasive wheels
4. Emergency First Aid
5. Safe Dig
6. Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
7. Relevant Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance, or relevant work experience
