The town was built on coal and oil shale mining, and the paper industries. Straiton is an area of newer housing and a retail park, which includes large retail stores such as Ikea, Costco and Next. We currently have a roll of around 175 children with 40 full time places available in the nursery. We aim to provide a safe, caring learning environment where children feel happy and confident.
