The Royal Caribbean Group’s (Shipboard HR Strategy & Services) Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Team Lead, Shipboard HR Strat&Svcs-Marine reporting to the Manager, Shipboard HR Strategy & Services.
Position is onsite and based in Weybridge, UK
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Manager, Shipboard HR Strategy & Services. The Team Leader is responsible for leading the team of Specialists, Analysts, or Coordinators who provide workforce Marine scheduling services. These services meet the operational guidelines from the Manager and Fleet Operations Management and provide the workforce needs of the fleet. The Team Leader ensures that the team complies with the guidance, SOPs, and training established by the department to meet Fleet Marine Par Levels; operational initiatives required for scheduling, and the placement of new hires. Provides on-the-job training and identifies the best recruitment sources for specific needs. Partners with Management and Planning to proactively schedule for heavy travel seasons, restrictions, limited travel periods, or other instances where workforce needs increase.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works closely with team members to ensure timely and accurate scheduling and rotation/fleet balancing.
2. Supervises compliance to established guidance and SOPs of the department.
3. Ensures team members follow an established process to assign crew members on ships.
4. Maintains a clear understanding of GAP Pool processes by all team members in a ready-to-work pool of deployable candidates.
5. Ensures all team members understand the communication of policies and procedures.
6. Continuously improves and optimizes the team’s effectiveness in the scheduling and logistics processes.
7. Ensures that the team follows workforce assignments for shipboard customers.
8. Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to team members to improve performance and enhance future development.
9. Ensures complete and accurate employee data tracking within the Enterprise One System for all CFM Personal Data from point of hire including all Crew Movement.
10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
1. 4-year degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience is preferred.
2. Experience in one or more of the following functions is preferred; workforce scheduling, planning, analytics, or shipboard crew administration.
3. Proficiency in human resources or operations applications preferred.
4. Good communication skills; reads, writes, and speaks English and has interpretative skills for oral and written instructions.
5. Must be able to travel internationally and domestically.
6. Proficiency in a second language (besides English) preferred (such as Spanish, French, German, or Italian).
7. Fundamental technical understanding of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of Microsoft Office software.
8. Applies critical knowledge and continuously improves supervisory skills.
9. Knowledgeable of world geography and time differences.
10. Knowledgeable of immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers in various geographical areas.
11. Applies knowledge of flag and port state regulations related to shipboard positions.
12. Understands the general concept of the shipboard organization.
13. Ability to apply policies and practices involved in the function.
14. Ability to develop and lead a team in a positive and productive manner.
15. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, coworkers, and shipboard employees.
16. Ability to recognize process improvements and make recommendations for change.
17. Work productively and lead a team under tight time constraints and stressful situations.
18. Able to travel internationally and domestically.
19. Able to read, speak, and write English to understand and interpret written procedures, give and receive instructions in written and verbal form, and effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, and operate a PC. The employee communicates, listens, compares variables, and assesses information. The employee may regularly move about the office complex, dock, or vessel, ascend and descend the vessel, travel, and lift, pull/push, or move 10 pounds. This position requires travel internationally and domestically aboard ship.
