We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mindfulness Practitioner to join the Dorset Pain Management Service. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with patients with long-term conditions.
We are looking for practitioners who have a registered qualification in one of - nursing, social work or AHP plus further postgraduate qualification and registration in Mindfulness.
The post is to cover Dorset wide, and the team base will be with the Team in the North and West of the county at Littlemoor Health Centre with hybrid working and face-to-face clinics in locations across the patch.
The Dorset Pain Management Service is a vibrant service, consisting of an inter-professional team. We employ modernised clinical practice to help people coping with chronic, non-malignant pain lead meaningful lives.
Our pan-Dorset service offers individual interventions and group programmes in various locations county-wide delivered by two teams across the county. The staff mix includes pain consultants, psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, pain and mental health nurses, occupational therapists, therapy assistants, trainees from various departments, and our hardworking admin support team.
Main duties of the job
1. To receive referrals for adults who meet the criteria for the service and undertake direct therapeutic intervention.
2. To offer specialist assessment and group and individual interventions for mindfulness, and generic pain management interventions.
3. To conduct assessments and offer bespoke interventions to help service users manage their chronic pain.
4. To manage and hold responsibility for own cases as an autonomous practitioner, assessing new cases, implementing evidence-based treatment plans, evaluating and discharging to their referrer at the end of intervention.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
