This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join an established business that supplies world-class products to the electrical and energy sectors.
Job Description:
1. You will operate welding machines to fuse metal segments together using MIG or other processes.
2. Measuring, cutting, clamping, grinding, drilling, or tacking metal pieces before welding.
3. You will be required to fabricate parts following mechanical drawings.
4. You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
5. You will be expected to maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality, ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to the customers' requirements.
6. You will check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order.
7. Performance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems, shortages, or equipment breakdowns.
8. You may be required to visit customer sites throughout the UK.
9. Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role.
10. Quality inspection of colleague's output.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
1. Fabrication/welding - MIG, MMA/Stick Welding, Stud Welding, and Plasma Cutting.
2. Preferably have experience using the Armarda Press Brake.
3. Hands-on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
4. The ability to understand mechanical drawings.
5. Overhead crane/lifting slinging experience.
6. FLT Counterbalance.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills.
8. Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel.
9. Experience of working within a continuous improvement environment.
10. Full driving licence.
11. Strong attention to detail.
Additional Details:
1. £15p.h but semi negotiable on experience.
