Description
KLA is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to provide effective EHS support during a period of significant business expansion at its Newport premises.
Reporting directly to the European EHS Manager, the successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to support all aspects of EHS policy and practice. Duties will include the development and review of policies and procedures; conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments; and providing competent EHS advice and training to KLA staff and others!

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop high quality written procedures for health, safety and environmental processes and activities.
2. Undertake accident and incident investigations and provide professional reports on findings.
3. Carry out task, equipment and process risk assessments and assist in the development of departmental risk assessment programmes.
4. Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to employees, contractors and visitors at all levels.
5. Conduct internal audits of EHS procedures in accordance with the site audit plan.
6. Support the development and implementation of site level requirements for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programmes and participate in third party external verification audits.
7. Undertake routine EHS inspections and assist in the management of the EHS inspection programme.
8. Provide day-to-day EHS support and guidance to KLA departmental managers and staff so as to ensure, handle and promote effective operation of the site’s health, safety and environmental management systems.
9. Analyse EHS performance metrics and respond in a proactive manner to promote continual improvement and minimize risk of EHS non-conformances.
Qualifications and Skills
10. Shown EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. (Desirable)
11. Candidates should hold a recognised health, safety and environmental management qualifications such as, NEBOSH General certificate, IEMA Certificate, NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety or NCRQ certificate.
12. Knowledge and experience of health, safety and environmental management standards (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) (Desirable)
13. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

15. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
