This is a fixed term post for 2 years. About the team Our Workforce Service is seeking an ER Policy and HR Compliance Lead on a fixed-term contract for two years. This is an exciting time to join the team as we transform the way we deliver HR services across the council. About the role As the ER Policy and HR Compliance Lead and reporting into the Head of Workforce, you will play a crucial role in the creation, development, benchmarking and engagement of our HR and employment policies. You will also have responsibility for the council’s Occupational Health service and will lead on the contract management and the tender process of contract renewals. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies that comply with current employment law and best practice. Furthermore, you will update these policies in response to legislative changes identified through horizon scanning. About you; • CIPD qualified. • In-depth knowledge of how employment law is created and how to interpret it into HR policies and practices. • Knowledge of latest developments in effective people management •Experience of horizon scanning and benchmarking • Experience of negotiating with trade unions and managers • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to research and draft complex reports taking account of complex and diverse issues.
