Job overview
Bexhill Hospital – MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy
We are looking to recruit a physiotherapy assistant to support our outpatient physiotherapy team at the Bexhill Hospital. If you are enthusiastic, keen to learn and enjoy working with people to achieve their goals, then this could be the job for you.
Main duties of the job
This role would include working closely with the physiotherapists, and our B4 Technical Instructors, to support patients in their rehabilitation following injury or surgery. This will require you to work with people on an individual basis, and when we return to group activities, in a gym/class environment. You will also be trained to provide support to the hydrotherapy pool. We would support you to develop skills in progression of exercise through a competency based training framework and support you to complete the Trust Care Certificate. Good communications skills, empathy to people’s needs, the ability to remain calm in changing situations and a positive approach to challenges will be vital in this role.
Within your daily week, the variety of your role would include provision of administrative support, coordination of local ordering, liaising with the teams and operational support to maintain clinical and departmental supplies, monitoring department equipment, and supporting departmental health and safety and audit. This would be supported through local training and competency frameworks.
There is scope to have some flexibility in your work pattern and we would be happy to discuss this at interview.
Working for our organisation
A wide range of staff benefits are available to our staff including staff development, enrolment in the NHS pension scheme, auto-enrolment to our Temporary Workforce Service, access to nurseries at Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital, staff restaurants and on-site staff accommodation.
In addition to an internal Occupational Health department, all staff also have access to free psychological support through our confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available to staff 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Onsite parking is available for a small administration fee.
