Job overview
We are looking for a flexible, motivated, and dynamic nurse to join our small, friendly, creative and forward thinking Haemoglobinopathy team. The newly created vacancy has arisen due to our expanding patient numbers and service needs. Our well established Thames Valley Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Network cares for approximately 600 adults and children, with Sickle cell disease, Thalassaemia, and other Rare Anaemias.
Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, motivated nurse to develop the skills to be able to work flexibly with both adult and paediatric services, across the network. You will provide support, education and information to patients and families. In addition, you will also be supporting the Education Lead nurse to identify, support and deliver education to stakeholders within our HCC region.
Person specification
Education and qualifications
* Registered nurse: adult and or children’s
* First degree in nursing, (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent
* Post graduate level working evidenced via a continuing professional development portfolio
* Completed or completing postgraduate level (HEI level 7) study or willing undertake
Knowledge
* Demonstrates up to date knowledge in the specialty
* Knowledge of the key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to professional practice
* Evidence of being able to work across organisational boundaries
Skills
* Previous experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
* Demonstrates high level written and verbal communication skills
Experience
* Evidence of being able to work across complex multidisciplinary teams
