The Role
Our client is one of the world's foremost refrigeration solutions providers.
As an industrial refrigeration engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, service, repair and technical troubleshooting, involving the diagnosis of electrical and mechanical system problems, on large commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
Main Responsibilities
1. Service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of refrigerating, air conditioning and process plant.
2. Liaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business.
3. Carry out on-site electrical and mechanical diagnostic checks.
4. On-site supervision as necessary of service engineers and apprentices.
5. On-site apprentice training.
6. Ensure that the Company's technical and safety standards are maintained in accordance with Health & Safety Practices as outlined in the Company Health and Safety procedures and to make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
Skills & Experience
1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Service Engineer with installation and mechanical/electrical installation of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
2. Working knowledge of environmental and health & safety regulations, and relevant EC directives (pressure equipment directive, machinery safety directive, ATEX directive, low voltage directive and EMC directive).
3. Experience servicing piston, screw and centrifugal compressors.
4. Experience with HCFC, HFC and NH3 refrigerants (HC refrigerants and CO2 would be an advantage).
5. Able to diagnose faults, including system design problems.
6. Working knowledge of PC and PLC based controls and instrumentation.
7. C&G F-Gas 2079 and Safe Handling of Ammonia Certification.
