I am working with a National Multi-Disciplinary’s Transport Planning team as they look to hire a Principal/Associate Transport Planner in Reading.
This team is working on some unique and interesting Transport Projects including Masterplans, unique development schemes like Red Bull’s F1 HQ and a whole host of residential, education, and healthcare sector schemes.
As a Principal/Associate Transport Planner, you will be a leading figure in the team, managing your own skills, mentoring junior staff, and working with the Transport Planning Director to identify and win new projects with private developers.
Principal/Associate Transport Planner Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for the delivery of transport planning projects, including day-to-day management of projects and clients, fee proposals, change control, and invoicing.
* Providing transport planning advice to colleagues and clients.
* Responsible for developing excellent client relationships and securing repeat work.
* Preparation of technical reports and presentations as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice.
* Liaising with the Project Partner and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project.
* Supporting the Discipline Partner to develop and grow the team.
* Overseeing analyses relating to transport planning and design projects including CAD, GIS, transport modelling, spreadsheet, and proprietary modelling coding and interrogation.
Principal/Associate Transport Planner Requirements:
* Degree or relevant experience in a transport-related/numeric subject (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering), or equivalent.
* An excellent knowledge of the principles of transport planning including a detailed understanding of policy, relevant design standards, and the requirements of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
* Client-focused with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working approach with a high level of commitment to quality.
* Relevant experience, including a range of projects across the sectors, preferably within the Private Development sector.
* Commercial awareness and the confidence, ability, and experience to provide clear, authoritative advice.
* A detailed understanding of TRICS for trip generation, the fundamentals of trip distribution, and assessment skills using Junctions 10 and LinSig, CAD, road safety engineering, junction design, and assessment.
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation or Transport Planning Society or an equivalent professional organization.
* Full current driving license.
