A prominent Financial Services organisation is looking for a dedicated and analytical Data Analyst to join their Data Strategy and Analytics team.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of transforming data into actionable insights that drive business success. You’ll work across various areas, including data analysis, reporting, process automation, and collaboration with teams such as Operations, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Analytics. Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse key datasets, including bordereaux, claims, and premium data, to uncover trends and provide actionable recommendations.
* Create and automate reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI to support decision-making across underwriting, claims, finance, and delegated authority teams.
* Work with teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability by implementing validation checks and refining data processes.
* Deliver timely and accurate reporting to meet regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements.
* Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve data workflows, collaborating with Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and alignment across the organisation.
* Support the development and execution of the company’s data strategy, contributing to the enhancement of data processes and tools.
* Conduct ad-hoc analysis and assist with departmental projects, including system upgrades and process improvements.
Skills and Experience:
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables) and familiarity with tools like SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
* Knowledge of ETL processes and data management principles.
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver meaningful insights.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* A degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, business, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in the insurance, reinsurance, or related sectors is beneficial.
* High attention to detail and a collaborative approach, thriving in a team-oriented environment.
