About the Role
Our internships are ideal for undergraduates and recent graduates in the sciences seeking to gain an insight into life at a fast-growing healthcare consultancy. We work with a wide range of clients, including the industry’s most successful pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, patient and public health bodies and charitable organisations. You will be presented with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a variety of projects, typically working on two to three projects for the duration of your internship.
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Epidemiologist Intern to join our rapidly growing Real-World Evidence (RWE) team. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of Costello Medical’s RWE service offering. Our RWE team contributes to the design, execution, and reporting of various real-world studies, which may be prospective, retrospective, or cross-sectional. They are involved in developing protocols and statistical analysis plans in collaboration with our Statisticians, clients, and external experts, as well as acquiring and analysing data. Additionally, they perform literature reviews and communicate methodologies and results through both written and oral formats. These studies leverage data from patient registries, claims databases, medical charts, prospective studies, and other sources of real-world data, addressing a broad scope of research questions related to disease burden, clinical effectiveness, economic topics, and more.
Hybrid Working Policy: We believe that having face-to-face time in the office holds many benefits and is central to ensuring that the community we have created, where people have a workplace they belong to and feel part of, is never lost. At the same time, we recognise that homeworking can improve work life balance, reduce commuting times and costs, and provide the opportunity to juggle personal commitments. Given the wealth of training, mentorship and development opportunities that are available as part of our internship programmes, time spent in the office is even more crucial. Therefore, our Interns can work from home for 1 day per week.
Career Prospects After the Internship
During the internship programme, individuals performing well may be given the opportunity to extend their internship to six months (note that this is dependent on business need). When this happens, it allows our interns to further develop their skills and potentially gain experience of other areas of the company (again, dependent on business need as well as the individual’s interests). Additionally, there is the opportunity for strong candidates to apply for the [insert job title] role and join our expanding team on a permanent basis, dependent on business needs.
