Laboratory Technician - Microbiology - Chatteris
ALS Laboratories are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support their Microbiology department at ALS Chatteris.
The successful candidate will carry out microbiological analysis on food, environmental swabs, and waters under aseptic technique and comply with the standards and principles set out in the Microbiology and Quality Manuals. Tasks are expected to be carried out related to testing, supporting efficient workflow, and following good laboratory practice.
Microbiological testing of samples includes sample preparation, plating, pouring, and incubation under excellent aseptic techniques. Performance of equipment and daily microbiological checks and participation in internal and external quality control programmes are also required.
Role:
Hours Per Week: 40
Days Per Week: Rotational Shift of Sunday - Thursday
Week 1: Sunday (09:00 – 18:00), Monday – Thursday (06:00 – 14:30)
Week 2: Sunday (09:00 – 18:00), Monday – Thursday (14:30 – 23:00)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Annual Salary: £24,378

* To perform analysis within the required timescales and ensure that result availability is in line with the method and client expectations.
* To ensure that all records are completed concisely and accurately with paperwork written in clear handwriting.
