As a member of the Talent team in Platinion L-A-B (London, Amsterdam, Brussels), you will primarily be responsible of the professional development of the London consulting staff. This role includes supporting individuals in their staffing and career developmental needs, managing both short-term and long-term priorities, adapting to shifting business needs, and identify patterns across the cohort to help drive strategies. In addition, you will be a member of the larger consulting talent team community in EMESA. You will collaborate closely with the leadership team of L-A-B and interact with different departments of the firm (Finance, HR, Mobility, L&D, Recruiting). You will report to the LAB Talent Manager. Staffing Management Responsible for optimizing the deployment of consulting resources to meet our business needs while ensuring that each consulting staff member receives the right set of opportunities to support their immediate BCG Platinion Career Development objectives and their overall long-term professional goals Optimizes team design, billability, and achievement of business priorities through a deep awareness of business environment, current available skills, cases, leads/proposals, and office/firm goals; track billability and utilization, maintain a view of staffing and commercial pipeline at a macro and micro level (overall business outlook as well as specific staffing needs) Build strong relationships with client facing staff to understand development needs, preferences and constraints for staffing; set and enforce staffing policies and expectations Coordinate with local, system, regional, and global staffing teams and represent the LAB staffing situation in COS calls Work closely with the Mobility teams to ensure compliance in work permits & VISA’s. Follow up with the NGWOW/TeamingBCG team to understand case team dynamics and identify which team/individual could benefit from extra support Collaborate with the L&D team to anticipate the training schedule and availability of staff Career Development Actively attend and engage in all CDC meetings for relevant cohort(s) of individuals; review meeting inputs and outputs; provide committee with market view of performance, pressure test and calibrate Career Advisors during meeting Partner with PLA CD Senior Specialist and Career Advisors to communicate CDC outcomes with individuals; reinforces and interprets meeting outcomes, provides ongoing advice, understand, and appreciate the values of BCG Platinion and work to preserve these values in interpreting and resolving career development issues Reinforce CD messages through Staffing and development discussions to support individual development (Pre) Onboarding Actively engage with candidates and hires early in their BCG Platinion experience; participate in the conversion process; adapt early experiences to meet likely development needs in first cases Provide Recruiting and local leadership with a view on demanded profiles and cohort needs Host onboarding sessions for all new joiners, ensuring a smooth transition into the PA/business and case work Ensure new hire is set up for success by sharing relevant documentation, providing first staffing experience, helping create 1st level network, allocating “buddy” and CDA, and frequent check-ins in first month Other HR & Analytics Address questions related to HR topics before escalating to HR; work with HR team to resolve issues faced by individuals; contribute thought leadership on initiatives crucial to addressing People issues Manage transition support through effective communication, working closely with HR team Update employees status change in the Staffing and HR systems, and track employees movements with the support of the local HR department (promotions, dismissals, holidays, Parental leaves, Flexleave, Sickness, Trainings) Monitor staff activity and participation in key aspects of morale, retention and affiliation (e.g., integration and affiliation programs and events, MDAs, red zone reports, PTO support etc.) Provide analytic support and ownership over projects related to offices of focus and office people team, including but not limited to Annual People Team Survey and Pyramid Planning Work closely with office people team to ensure information sharing, best practice codification, and efficient operations Act as a thought partner for the local leadership team, Business Management Director and LAB Talent Manager Actively participate in the broader EMESA Consulting People Team community including sharing best practices and participating in regional initiatives and projects University degree or equivalent preferred 5 years of HR management/Talent management Interest and basic knowledge of concepts such as IT architecture and Digital solutions (ERP, Data platforms, Cloud) Fluency in English Candidates must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with BCG Platinion's values and culture Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all organizational levels inside and outside BCG Platinion through establishing positive and productive working relationships Able to engender trust from senior local and regional leadership as well as more junior resources and serve as a broker or liaison between the two groups Strong communication skills; able to communicate confidently, articulately; able to influence multiple stakeholders to adopt a new point of view and be simultaneously flexible with adjusting own perspective in light of new information or constraints Maturity and seasoning that engenders respect and trust from others; good judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style High integrity, tact, a positive attitude, and an ability to maintain absolute confidentiality Comfortable in resolving conflict, delivering difficult messages and addressing all people related issues Autonomous, able to tolerate ambiguity, self-motivated A quick study; a can-do attitude, a creative solution seeker and a readiness to try new approaches; decisive, pragmatic, and reason-minded Quick understanding of BCG policies, practices, structure, and how decisions are made An active team player with strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills Comfortable in both working in detail and understanding the big picture.
