Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The "must haves" for this role:
1. Good communication skills both verbally and written. English to a standard able to fulfil the role (fluent in written and verbal English).
2. A commitment to ensuring a good patient experience for all patients.
3. Reasonable level of fitness (patient manual handling requirement of role).
4. Flexible approach to assist with unit operational duties. Formal caring experience is essential but would accept those that are willing to learn new skills and attend study sessions to support the role.
5. Good level computer skills.

Education/Qualification/Training
Essential criteria
* English and Maths (A*-C or 9-4) GCSE or equivalent qualification.
* Care Certificate, an equivalent qualification or equivalent experience of delivering compassionate, safe and high-quality care.
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Demonstrable experience of delivering personal care and a range of related procedures, some of which may be non-routine, using safe evidence-based techniques and maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
* Demonstrable previous experience delivering delegated clinical care to patients/clients in a healthcare setting e.g. blood pressure, venepuncture, urinalysis etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of care and related procedures through experience or short courses.
* Proficient IT skills; able to input, save and open information in a variety of systems.
* Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues in a variety of roles and seniorities, and patients where there may be barriers to understanding or engagement.
