World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.
We have an opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Operations Group.
You will be responsible for Production Engineering activities within ADC UK operations, across both portfolios. Responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel to maximise the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment, through optimisation and Continuous Improvement projects.
2. Identification and Implementation of cost reduction projects.
3. Working cross-functionally with all Operations Departments to proactively review machine data, to monitor yield and throughput to drive machine improvements.
You will be working in a mixed manufacturing environment including Cleanrooms. To be successful, you will need experience of Engineering within a manufacturing environment, specifically experience and skills in fault finding and problem solving on automated equipment. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishing your objectives, working proactively, and managing your own time effectively.
We operate in a regulated industry; you must be able to follow procedures and create accurate documents and records of your work.
Experience with any of the following would be an advantage, due to the bespoke nature of our equipment, in-house training will be given:
1. PC Based Windows Systems
2. Vision systems
3. Servo drives
4. PLC; Siemens, Allen Bradley
You will need to have completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or have a higher education qualification (such as HNC, HND or degree) in a related subject, with a minimum of 3 years industry experience.
This position will be working Monday - Friday office hours, based at our manufacturing facility in Witney.
