Client
Our client is an award-winning Main Contractor that operate across multiple sectors including hospitality, leisure, education, residential and high residential. They have a great reputation for delivering outstanding projects up to circa £70m in value.
Responsibilities:
* Attain the most favourable quotes for material process requisitions in line with Company Procurement guidelines
* Ensure that quality materials are available for all contracts in line with the Contract Programme and Procurement Schedule
* Research potential suppliers/alternative products expanding the Company's portfolio successfully fulfilling the Company's approval process
* Maintaining accurate records of the performance of suppliers for future contracts
* Liaise with Estimators, Contract/Site Manager, Planners and Surveyors on their current and future material procurement contract requirements ensuring sustainability of the project as well as identifying any special requirements
* Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to contracts on Gateway to ensure traceability
* Ensure the smooth running of the Department and maintain control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 as well as OHSAS 45001
The Ideal Person:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a procurement role
* Track record working in the Construction industry
* Main Contractor experience is advantageous
* CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential
* Good communication skills
* Sound negotiation skills
* Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Decisive and analytical
* Committed to delivering value for money and demonstrating improvements against external benchmarks, achieving and exceeding targets
