Our small and friendly nursery is looking to recruit a level 3 practitioner who has a passion for early years and is keen to develop their career further. Blossom Grove and Holly Grove Childcare are 2 small unique early years settings based 1.5 miles apart that deliver early years teaching in a home from home environment. The main duties are to assist a small friendly and dedicated team who share a love of looking after a great group of children. The practitioner will be looking after children aged 6 months to 4 years. The applicant must be reliable, have the ability to use your own initiative, be caring, honest, motivated, enthusiastic, a good time-keeper and willing to train further if required. It is essential that you enjoy working in a child-focused environment. Play is at the heart of all we do and it is essential that your ethos is for children to learn through play.

Essential Information
Job Title: Level 3 play leader
Purpose of Role
1. To support the Employer in providing appropriate learning experiences for the children attending the Employer’s setting at any given time.
2. To ensure the safety and well-being of those children.
3. To liaise with parents/guardians of those children as requested by the Employer.
4. Minimum 3 days per week between 7:20-6pm (30-45 hours)
Key Responsibilities
Learning & Development Experiences, to assist the Employer in:
1. Planning age-appropriate activities for the Children;
2. Delivering those planned activities;
3. Observing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress of each of the Children;
4. Reviewing, maintaining and updating records relating to each of the Children.
Safety & Wellbeing, to:
1. Work with the Employer to ensure the safety and well-being of the Children at all times, whilst at the setting, in transit and at other places;
2. Ensure all visitors to the Employer’s setting are duly authorised by the Employer and sign the visitors’ book upon entry;
3. Soothe and comfort injured Children in line with the Employer’s policies and procedures;
4. Administer first aid/medical care to the extent authorised by the Employer in line with parental/guardian consent and the childminding assistant’s qualifications and experience.
5. Adhere to employers policies and procedures.
Communication
1. To provide parents/guardians with information about the Children to the extent authorised by the Employer and in line with the Employer’s policies and procedures.
Emergencies
1. To be in sole charge of the children at the setting for a maximum of 2 hours, including in emergency situations, taking responsibility for ensuring compliance with appropriate Ofsted requirements at those times.
Other
1. To carry out any other duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post that are required in order to deliver the job’s key responsibilities.
2. To work within the policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Education
1. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development or training relevant to the role.
2. Paediatric First Aid training.
3. DBS Certificate.
4. Clean driving license.
5. Level 3 early years qualification.
Knowledge
1. Child Development.
2. EYFS.
3. National Curriculum.
4. Safeguarding.
Experience
1. Minimum 3 years previous experience in caring for children.
Skills
1. Effective communication using appropriate methods and language, including ICT, with a range of audiences – children and adults.
2. Time management and organisational skills.
3. Anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of work.
Desirable Attributes
Qualifications/Education
1. Clean driving license.
2. Paediatric first aid.
3. Current DBS on the update service.
4. Knowledge EYFS learning outcomes.
5. Knowledge of child development and COEL.
6. Previous experience of working in a childcare organisation.
