Tax Associate
Location: Merseyside, Hybrid – Office/Remote Flexibility

About the Role
We are working with a dynamic, growing firm seeking an experienced Tax Associate to join their tax department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and handle both personal and corporate tax compliance. As the role progresses, there will be ample opportunity to gain exposure to tax planning and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal Tax: Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of compliance work.
* Corporation Tax: Prepare and review corporation tax returns, ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations.
* Self-Assessment: Prepare self-assessment tax returns for individuals, sole traders, and other entities, including Capital Gains Tax calculations.
* P11D and Benefits in Kind: Assist with the preparation of P11D forms and other related benefits in kind matters.
* Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients to discuss tax matters, provide advice, and update them on any changes to their tax situation.
* Tax Payments: Monitor tax payment deadlines and advise clients on payment schedules and liabilities.
What We’re Looking For
* Solid personal tax experience, ideally in a practice environment.
* Some experience in corporation tax, although this is not a strict requirement.
* ATT/CTA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
* Strong technical skills, including proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and clearly explain tax concepts.
* Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
* A proactive approach, with a genuine interest in developing your career in tax.
