Job Description
We are looking for someone with a background in design to join our small, friendly team at Hadley. Hadley is a design company specialising in decorative paper and print products - surface pattern design and illustration. We make artistic products that bring a little extra joy to the everyday. We are looking for someone to elevate our design and production values.
Duties will include designing products and turning existing illustrations into products and ranges. This will include: setting up files for print using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, planning packaging, and proofing products. They will assist the marketing team (oh ok, it’s just one person - part time) by photographing products and helping to plan, both practically and creatively, photoshoots.
You’ll also create assets for the website including banners and graphics and aid in
making the website look beautiful. Photography and photo editing skills would be a great asset. A willingness to learn these skills in collaboration with us and an eye for composition and colour is a must.
You will have a great grasp of Adobe Creative Suite, be self motivated and have a good
understanding of print methods and materials (someone who enjoys poring over paper samples would be ideal). You will need to have a passion for visual communication and be able to work to the Hadley aesthetic.
The role is part time and will be worked flexibly. You will work in close communication with Jo and be available to work in Jo’s Totnes studio 1 day a week, the rest of the hours will be worked from home flexibly. More studio time might be needed depending on projects, this would be negotiated in collaboration with you.
£20,800 annual salary with holiday and pension.
(Salary is £41,600 pro rata worked at 2.5 days, 20 hours per week) The role is likely to expand as the business grows. This would be a great job for someone who is a motivated, self starter with a love of design and visual communication who wants to be a part of a growing business.
